Profile privacy
A profile is not an all-or-nothing public page.
PostLane separates the profile shell people need for context from protected details that require Mutual Consent or a controlled share.
Public shell, protected details
A limited public shell can provide enough context to recognize a person in a conversation, circle, plan, or event. Protected photos and account details are not automatically part of that shell.
Mutual Consent provides one path for a specific reveal. Profile Share provides another path for intentionally sharing a controlled profile view.
Controlled sharing states

| Friend or revealed | A relationship or time-limited Mutual Consent reveal permits more context. | Access remains bounded by the applicable privacy state. |
| Shared | An active controlled link or static QR resolves to the intended profile view. | The owner may revoke access. |
| Revoked | The owner ended access and the resolver no longer returns the intended profile view. | Ask the owner for a new share only if appropriate. |
| Expired | Time-limited access ended and the old code no longer restores the intended view. | A new intentional share is required. |
| Blocked | A relationship boundary prevents access without disclosing private block details. | Respect the boundary. |
| Deleted | The account or shared surface is no longer available. | Use Support only for your own account issue. |
What sharing does not create
- No browseable public profile directory.
- No list showing everyone who viewed a profile.
- No paid exposure or payment-gated visibility.
- No promise that a screenshot or copied information can be recalled after someone legitimately viewed it.
